Automation of scheduled tasks...all across the board. Database operations, Monitoring operations, Managed File Transfer, DevOps. I manage it as an enterprise-wide solution with my present position and all previous positions. We automate Linux, Windows, AIX, SFTP, MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, DB2, RESTApi, Email, Informatica and Service Now assets.
- Allows for development of complex workflows with little scripting knowledge required.
- Built in High-Availabity and redundancy
- Robust client interface
- Excellent audit logging which satisfies regulatory audits
- Granular permissioning providing varying levels of access to different groups
- SEV1 issues are addressed as top priority and you will not be left alone in system-down situations until you are up and running.
- Redwood is purposefully killing the Tidal product by price gauging customers on renewals. Three to Four times increase for licensing renewals.
- Tier one support seems to have no history with the product, no knowledge of automation, and asks for unnecessary volumes of information before escalating to the REAL Tidal support team. It often takes several days before someone who actually supports Tidal sees the ticket.
- Since the acquisition, support quality has taken a nose-dive for non-critical issues. Resolution times take weeks, months, if at all. Before Redwood acquired it, resolution times took hours or days.
- Tidal (before Redwood's acquisition) has a long history of using the customers as Beta testers. New versions are released without having gone through adequate testing on systems of scale.
- This vendor forces customers to update to newest release rather than fixing bugs identified in versions which never went through and adequate QA process.

Tidal Automation Review
Tidal Automation is a tool which is used to schedule, automate and manage things in a way is easier while functioning and working on it. Some of the business problems and scope of use are: 1. Tidal is working towards hybrid solution (i.e) where most of the applications now are converting from on-prem to Azure environments. 2. GUI is an area where it can be improved, making more user-friendly and attractive by improving its functionality as it sometimes gets little busy and time-consuming. 3. Also, whenever there a bug/issue in Tidal we are reaching out to/ raising a case with TIDAL team so they help us in identify it which may sometime delay and if its production environment it leads to loss of revenue which may eventually leads to customers trust in product.
- Tidal Automation allows us to automate and schedule/ perform various tasks in a easy and effective manner. It is highly interactive and effective allowing nearly 4k -5k jobs to run a day.
- Tidal is designed to be easily shareable and collaborative allowing multiple users to work at a particular time making work effective.
- Tidal allows us to ensure that every event which is triggered is exactly when it's supposed to be regardless of other activities which are going as well.
- It is user-friendly to generate the reports required of a particular object and allows us to test the codes perfectly well before executing in live environment.
- It fluctuates when there are many URL's open in use which is time consuming as it delay to load while working.
- When there are more than 1 function to perform in an object/job it is not possible as it takes 1 function at a time.
- There are some things where we need to do it repeatedly for every n mins which can be try to resolve which sometime maybe irritating as there will other activities also going on.
- Sometimes, when there are more than 2-3 TWA open and if we select a job and try to cancel, it selects the jobs which are also selected in another tab of TWA to cancel which is a serious threat in production environment.

Tidal for smart automation!
The most efficient way of handling the automated tasks in tedious jobs. One of the best featues in the automation tool is the triggers which are the functional alerting part of the application. They will help the users in getting a alert while the job is going on and when they are done. The other is the scheduler itself while it plays a major role in allocating the tasks for the automation tool.
- The alerting system that are the triggers which will give a message that the tasks are being done
- The scheduler which manages the flow of work with the jobs that are being carried way in the processsing part
- The automation of tool is really reducing the tedious tasks which are done by users with less man power
- The UI can be improved as it is the face of the application to end users
- Knowledge on the application is limited

Way to go!
Design, develop, and administrate Tidal Automation jobs for company internal applications to perform day to day automated tasks. Such as moving files across multiple platforms, calling scripts for data processing, executing ETL processes for data inputs/extracts, and etc. Our production environment executes 10k+ jobs daily.
- Scheduled automation, hourly/daily/weekly/monthly.
- Event driven jobs, especially file events. We have applications entirely based on file arrival.
- Across platforms; jobs are kicked off sequentially between multiple environments, Windows and Linux systems.
- Would like to see Linux agents work with OpenJDK14, right now it woks with OpenJDK11.
- Improved DR solution, as of now the DR has to be cold standby.
- Improved Java Client for version 6.5.5 work with OpenJDK.
Tidal Automation has been in our environment for a while now, probably since 5.x.x version days. We have leveraged the integrations of Oracle and Lawson ERPs and have been of great help in running several jobs every day on time. It helps us to have the end users run their ERP jobs without any dependency on the core team, also ensuring the security/SOX compliances.

Tidal Workload Automation
We have recently migrated our data center to Azure, to save the cost on VM we are using Azure Adapter which is much beneficial to reduce the cost of VM's which is used by development team to deallocate or shutdown during weekend and take snapshot of the VM's .
It helped us to centralize monitoring of all systems and also send report of critical jobs. With tidal Automation new features we have integrated it with ServiceNow which will create incident automatically and update notes based on action taken on the job.
